Clogged-up sprinkler heads: Through regular use, debris and dirt can get jammed into your sprinkler heads, clogging them up and preventing them from operating properly.

Valve or sprinkler head leaks: A worn-out connection can cause your control valves or sprinkler heads to spring a leak. This can cause your water bill to skyrocket while your lawn gets an uneven watering.

Faulty controller: Your sprinkler controller is the brain of the whole system. If something’s wrong with your controller, you need to get it replaced immediately or you’ll experience a lot of different issues with your entire sprinkler system.

Sprinkler heads failing to pop up: If you have pop-up sprinklers, a mechanical or electrical problem could cause them not to pop up properly, which can lead to sprinkler zones being under or overwatered.

Damaged sprinkler heads: If you use a lawnmower, there’s a chance that you could damage your sprinkler heads when mowing. If this happens, you’ll need to replace the entire sprinkler head assembly.

Detached or damaged wiring: With any electrical system, the wiring could get damaged or worn out. If your sprinklers are behaving erratically, you may need to have your wiring repaired or replaced.

Faulty solenoid: Solenoids control the activation of the internal vacuum pressure inside your control valves. If the solenoid has short-circuited, individual sprinklers may fail to activate properly.

Damaged or leaky pipes: Just like any plumbing system, the underground pipes can be damaged and develop leaks for a lot of different reasons. Leaky pipes can lead to a loss of pressure, high water bills, and uneven watering around your yard.
